MEET STEVE SOMERSET		BEGINNINGS

		DG Steve Somerset was born and raised in Birmingham, England. In 1973 he immigrated to Calgary where he joined the Royal Bank of Canada. In 1989 having enough of the cold winters in Calgary he decided to head to a sunnier climate and moved to Saltspring Island. DG Steve works full time as an Investment Advisor for BMO Nesbitt Burns on SaltSpring Island. In May 2007 Steve was married to Dori (seen below).

100% President 100% Zone Chairperson Two District Governor Appreciation Awards Key Member Award LCI Leadership Medal Judge Brian Stevensen Fellowship Larry Schrodt Fellowship Melvin Jones Fellowship		He joined Lions in 1996 and within two months was the club treasurer. He must have balanced the books well as he continued in that role for the next five years. He was VDG from 2007 - 2008. He has served both on the District Cabinet and the Multiple District as Environment Chair. He also served as the Multiple District LEMPR/R Training Chairperson for the past 3 years.
