BRING ONE CAMPAIGN |
| |
|
Before 1977 the Forum was just a dream of Lions International President Joseph McLaughlin. On September 30 of 1977 it became a reality as the first USA Lions Forum was called to order in Rosemont Illinois.
The presidential challenge was to come together to forge measures "that will restore vigorous growth of American Lionism." Seventy International Directors and Past International Directors contributed $100 each to the cost and the Lions of Illinois were able to return that amount at the close of the Forum. A small profit was made available to the 1978 Forum. A format of professional presentations followed by attendee discussion was developed. 984 Lions from North America attended and were entertained and motivated by Robert Devaney, athletic director from the University of Nebraska, Senator Robert Dole of Kansas and actress Betsy Palmer.

Because of it's success, we will again offer participation in the "Bring One Campaign".
For Lionism and the Forum to grow we need to reach new people and encourage them to join us. Although most of the seminars will be geared toward Lions, we want to encourage all Lions, Lioness and Leos to attend. We especially want to encourage upcoming club leaders to participate in this great educational experience. They don't have to be current or past officers, as we want everyone to attend
We hope that all of you who have enjoyed the Forum in the past will invite a first timer to attend the Saskatoon Forum with you. Those of you who attend and bring a frist timer with you will receive a special Forum Pin stating the words "Forum Mentor". The pin also includes a dangler with the year "2008".
Each new attendee must document wh invited them on their registration form in order for the mentor to receive credit.
Thank you for helping us connect with new people. Together we can make the 2008 Saskatoon Forum the best ever!
