Marcel was born in Dixville, in the Eastern Township of Quebec, in 1947. The third from a family of eleven children, he worked on the family farm until graduating from school and then moved on to Montreal in 1965. Marcel worked as a long haul driver to Florida until 1970.
He landed in Port Alice, where he met and married his wife Nancy Lee in 1971. They have 2 children.
He now enjoys the retirement life with a large garden, woodworking and travelling. He was also very involved for over 25 years in hockey as a referee. |

He joined the Port Alice Lions Club in 1983. and served at every Club offices many times including Club President in 1986-87. He went on to be Zone Chairman (four times) in I-6, and all of those offices at 100%. He has served at the District level for many years, on many committees as chairman.
He moved to Ladysmith in 2005 and transferred to the Lions Club.
His motto is " Lets work together - there is no I in TEAM". |
