Club History We received our Charter (007993) on June 27, 1964, sponsored by the Victoria Chinatown Lions Club. Since then we have been involved in many community, regional, national and international projects. Meetings We meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 pm. Mission Statement of Lions Club International To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary service through community involvement and international co-operation. Club Activities Our club projects and activities include: Special Kudos to Sidney Lions Club member Art Pearce, who spearheaded a campaign to support the No Child Without programme. As a result, Sidney Lions donated $7500 to sponsor kids in 4 schools. No Child Without sponsorship provides lifesaving MedicAlert bracelets/necklaces to children. March 27th - Paddle the Peninsula event by the Victoria Kayak and Canoe club to raise funds for Camp Shawnigan. They have done this paddle (normally Victoria to Port Angeles and return) for 28 years. Esquimalt (I-2), Central Saanich, Gordon Head and Sidney Lions will be providing support through transportation and catering. We are part of Lions Clubs International in Multiple District 19, which includes clubs in British Columbia, Washington, and Northern Idaho. We are in District "I" which encompasses Vancouver Island BC and Olympic Peninsula WA. We are in Zone 3 which also includes: Central Saanich, Galiano Island, Gordon Head, Mayne Island, Pender Island, Salt Spring Island and Saturna Island Lions Clubs. Mailing Address Sidney Lions Club
